    Traveling Soldier可以算是“南方小鸡(Dixie Chicks)乐队组合”最诗化的作品，它的诗化正在于它用口语表述着一个柔软又伤感的故事，而这故事是民谣时代传统的再现，也是平凡心灵深处也许并不惊显的波动：一位将赴前线的士兵身边没有可以说话的人，偶然间他在一家小小的咖啡馆看见一个温柔恬静的女孩，于是他请求她陪着说说话，两人一见钟情而又被分两地，藉着书信传达心中的思念和爱慕，直到战争结束……这个带有美国60年代色彩的故事开始于吉他奏出的轻柔的序幕，女生和着苏格兰风笛的长奏，在小提琴悠扬的渲染和吉他的挑拨中，凄楚，而又执着。




    南方小鸡(Dixie Chicks)是三位来自德克萨斯州的女歌手组成的乡村音乐组合。这支乐队是一支很有影响力的乡村音乐组合，但同时，她们也是非常积极倡导和平的人士。比如这首 Travelin' Soldier就是有关于战争题材的，她们讲了一个非常动人、而且发人深省、同时也是一个很有意义的故事。
